24th May 2011 - Survived the high winds

Post by Jeff »

We had some seriously strong winds yesterday. We were expecting them so picked a relatively sheltered spot. Still saw 50 knot winds at the masthead!

Here's a wee video:

Annoyingly we had precious little out of the gen as we had not a lot of wind most of the time due to the shelter of the trees - then a blast. We had the comp on all day for work and entertainment, and had to run the generator the next day :(

No fish!! :(

Still - better than having a solar panel in Scotland - I don't think they work north of the border! Hope wind has eased a bit now. It's looking OK for Plymouth this weekend but I am hoping for a big lump of high pressure to form as we are sailing to Guernsey a week monday (allegedly!!!) :o . Still on the fish fingers then!!
