well been over a year now as a novice live - aboard but still here still on board loving it and all sailing restrictions lifted by my insurance company for the new year. No I have not hit anything but seen some very amusing incidents by so-called experienced skippers.

well ventured out a few times now - certainly more that some of the other "statics" in the marina. The most important bit of kit that I have purchased since getting the boat - a Cobb Supreme! What an awesome bit of kit. Cooking a whole leg of lamb, roast potatoes, veg perfectly in a barbeq...

Great to see you are back on the water and enjoying it. I must say from your pics the interior woodwork on your boat looks great. What varnish do you use to maintain such pristine conditions?
Been out a few times in mine now and not hit anything - YET

Been looking at wind turbines but they appear very costly - and some very noisy :D I had a solar panel on the coach roof but had to remove it to make space to mount the life raft. I will probably go down the route of mounting 2 solar panels on the side like spray dodgers. The battery charger def nee...

As we only sailed the boat back from Mercury at Hamble to Chatham the Skipper checked out all the systems and batt levels before we left. I suspect that they are quite old as there is no record of them being replaced in the previous owners paperwork. When I have time it is one of the things on my &q...

The de-humid is 240 volts (I am on shore power - hence the galvanic isolator) It is a waveline unit with a permanent outlet if required - works well. I also think I need to replace and re-wire the battery bank. On the second day on bringing the boat back from Eastbourne to dover we had been sailing ...

the de-humid only takes 1 amp so not a problem. New cooker in, touch screen DVD/radio, heating works ok, need to service the engine (Perkins Prima 50) and also gearbox - maybe get professionally re-aligned and seal. Bloody weather has curtailed any sailing course but have spent hours after hours stu...

well been on board now almost constant. Since Xmas only 3 days in a house - love it. Problems - yes - solvable - yes - I hope so. Trying to cut costs and spending whims but purchased a semi industrial sewing sail maker machine, fire treated hard wearing material and reflex foam. Intend to re-upholst...

Got a new camera so will upload when I get a chance. At the moment I am getting really pissed off with chandlers. Mailspeed marine have got to be the worst out there - more like mailsnail marine. Spend over £3500.00 with the idiots and they still can't get it right. Send the wrong lifejackets, first...

Well thrown in at the deep end really. Went down to Mercury, Hamble last Friday to meet the delivery crew on Saturday to go over a few things with them. Saturday morning I get a text from them asking if I would be able to crew for the skipper - explained that I knew sod all but possibly. As it turne...

Well the dinghy I purchased will not be the best rowing kit but meets other criteria - hopefully. In the end I went for a Honwave 3.2 air deck and V keel because the boat I have is an "Owner's Version" but as mentioned before has space is not utilised too the best advantage. It has a singl...
