31st May 2010 - Weymouth to Poole via Studland Bay

Post by Jeff »

Some excellent sailing brought us rapidly from Weymouth, around another infamous headland (St Albans Head) to the lovely anchorage of Studland Bay, but onshore winds forecasted for later meant we needed to relocate, and we're now spending the first night in a marina since we began, for £30 a night!! So we'll probably just stay tonight!

Would have gone to one of the many alternative anchorages in the very sheltered "Poole Harbour", which is actually more of a giant inland lake with numerous islands, but the dog has gone over 24 hours without a walk now, and we could do with some supplies (paraffin, diesel, food) anyway, so we bit the bullet.

Hopefully we'll be able to find somewhere decent to go where I can get mobile broadband, and which doesn't cost a bomb, later in the week so I can do some work. If we can't find anywhere, which is weather dependent, we'll have to be in the marina, which will hurt!
