A full week of work ahead of me is great in that it provides essential income which funds the trip, but when you're anchored up somewhere as beautiful as Churston Cove, 10 minutes walk along a tree-lined coast path from Brixham, it's hard not to be a little jealous of the people walking their dogs on the nearby beach.
We arrived here yesterday afternoon after the short motor across Tor Bay from Torquay harbour. The wind was 25 knots from the West, and was creating some substantial chop, so it was hard to imagine there could be a sheltered anchorage at the South West of the bay, but there was. The tiny bay of Churston Cove was empty of other boats so we motored around trying to find the best spot for our anchor. Satisfied we had enough depth, down it went.
