Crew needed for Brighton-Bristol Voyage - March/April

Post by willone »

Hi,

I'm moving my boat from Brighton Marina to Bristol at the end of March/start of April. It's a 20ft Bilge keel with 4 berths. I'm not as strong a sailor as I'd like to be so I could do with one or two extra hands who'd be comfortable sailing around the Cornish coast.

In return I can pay for any food, overnight leisure costs and travel. I can also part with some cash for your time depending on experience but I can't afford a specialist delivery skipper.

I can guarantee that I'll be an interesting trip; I'm happy to discuss the route including stop overs and am just as much about enjoying the journey as I am getting the boat there.

please feel free to call with any questions etc... My no is;07851062122

Many thanks,

Will

Hi, welcome to Yacht Forum!

I _so_ would have joined you for this trip. It sounds like an excellent adventure - but I'm setting off on my own adventure at the same time.

Hope you find some crew. I'll send a link to this to a few people I know in Devon who perhaps might be interested.

If you fail to find crew and time gets tight, you could always have it shipped over land. There's a company in Plymouth that specialise in yacht transport and who quoted me just over £1k for shipping our 32 foot fin keeler from Whitby North Yorkshire to Plymouth, Devon. So I should think Brighton to Bristol for you would probably not be all that expensive. Nowhere near as much of an adventure - but a possibility. Their website is here:

Please please take loads of photos and then email them to us and we'll post them up on here for you - perhaps with an account of your voyage if you have the time to write one.

Best wishes and best of luck,

:D

Hi i am an RYA Dinghy Instructor (Coastally endoresed) i also have my RYA power boat level 2 and ICC (International Certificate of Competence). I Have 10 years of sailing experience, for £500 (in total) me and my crew would sail your boat from Brighton to Bristol, (cost including all of our travel expenses and food costs).

Thanks Callum
