Same here, but I was surprised to find that some of the entrants had nowhere near as much experience as I thought they would need. So the big question I suppose is at what stage does someone decide they have enough ? It could take years to get experienced enough but it's deciding that level that can...

The Jester Challenge

Anyone here thought about going for it ?
The next one is a transat, so from the UK to the USA, which I must admit, is a rather daunting thought, but the one this year was to the Azores, which isn't quite as far so I'm thinking about it. Am I alone ? am I nuts ?

Sorry to hear that, and quite agree, they don't seem to realise at all. Though I must admit I'm a bit of a soft touch when it comes to animals. Just let one of the cats in through the office window, and watching the dog sitting there, outside, with the sister in laws horse also watching me, if I giv...

No reason to be, here we've been through quite a few pet changes, but the cutest has to be the feline ones, mind you, they were born here so we have become a little more attached than maybe we would have. Not onboard pets, but we started off with just a dwarf lop eared rabbit, then took on a rescued...

A little light humour for a dreary Thursday

A guy is walking along the strip in Las Vegas and a knockout looking hooker catches his eye. He strikes up a conversation and eventually asks the hooker, 'How much do you charge?' Hooker replies, 'It starts at $500 for a hand-job.' Guy says, '$500 dollars! For a hand-job! No hand-job is worth that k...

On this day

With the kind permission from UncleAlbert, let us remember them In Flanders field so far away a soldier bowed his head to pray, a moment spent with god on high to ask if now he has to die For Tommy Smith knew much of war the death the blood the pain the gore. He’d seen it all, most at first hand and...

You might like to have a chat with Al & Tina of AT Sailing Link here http://www.atsailing.com/ They are very good, and also very helpful and practical, so they can give you advice direct from the horses mouth (figure of speech  ) But other than that, I tend to go more for the practical rath...

She's certainly a good looking boat Bob, well worth the money
As said elsewhere, don't forget to put her on www.sailroom.co.uk (no charge obviously  )
Set the price for what you want and make that the reserve price, then you don't get any silly offers :?
Best of luck with the sale

To get a job in the industry, they do ask for qualifications, which does cost money, and even the most experienced sailors out there can't work in the trade without those qualifications. Catch 22 situation, I know, as holding a bit of paper doesn't always mean someone knows what they're doing. Had e...
