Bloody bow thrusters
Just going to sea a fortnight ago .......tested the gearbox and bow thruster prior to casting of when the thruster sounded rough then just whirled like a disengaged starter motor  Was craned out .......found the fwd bearing had disintegrated due to sea water ingress so new bearing ,lip seal and...

Never get tired of looking at your piccys Jeff I must know them all by now your round britain is an excellent guide to all going the same way ! Agree about Saltash pontoon . It's a pity they allow people to leave some rough old boats for weeks on what is a short stay mooring . Fair old steep climb u...

Hi jeff they are expensive their website states that they are half the price of the average Plymouth marina prices .......for a swinging mooring miles up,the Tamar !, :o We have finally decided and have settled for a swinging mooring at the Cargreen Yc for £400 PA. Lovely little club house and a fri...

Time to move on
Our Marina berth days are over .....£4.5k is a joke . Looks like a mooring at Saltash Sailing Club is on the cards . It's been all quiet on the Yealm possibility . Security was a worry at the Yealm cos it was a long way up the river ,past the houses into the woods. You has a mooring up the Tamar Rob...

We never wintered afloat at anchor. I'd like to give it a go someday. Would be tough! £1300. About 1/3 of the price of Yacht Haven I guess? And a much nicer place to be most of the time. 1/3 ? £4,600 renewal this year . It's becoming no,joke trying to run a shore home and a Berth in a marina . Anch...

Why not live at anchor like we did T? Using the Yealm as a bolt-hole when required, or for shore time boat parking? Very jealous that you've managed to secure a mooring in the Yealm!! We love it there. We will still be sort of liveaboards doing much the same as we are doing now but we enjoy the cre...

I recognise that boat! I have followed it through the bridge at least a couple of times and I've seen it going up and down the Tamar. Nice little blog. :D Terry - any withdrawal symptoms yet from YBW :shaking2: ? Leo is/.was a lovely little boat . Often I had two boats refusing to sell Leo whilst h...
