Bad news Bob, but at least he saved you from finding out later, when it could have cost an arm and a leg

That's when I would do it definately, spring and summer (haha) are when the dreamers are out looking and thinking how nice it would be to get out there sailing, it doesn't look as nice in autumn or winter so the prices fall

To be honest, I would have no idea about costs, and wouldn't even want to begin thinking about it, if I did it would never happen
A boat is not something you want to try and budget for, if you looked into the financial side too much you would never do it

Short answer is yes, prices are dropping, but this time of year never commands good prices for boats, best to sell in spring Is it being affected by the credit crunch ? I think so, yes, but then this has been a long time coming, and was inevitable in a market where prices were reaching the point whe...

Don't know what anyone else thinks, but personally, I think something smells decidedly whiffy about this. They've spent what sounds like a fortune, on a steel boat, with nothing inside, and now they need to sell it quickly ?. I know I'm a bit cynical, but before going anywhere with that I would want...

Don't know much about alluminium TBH, but steel can be welded and as far as I know, alluminium can, but it's not easy to do

Different hull materials have different properties, and their own good and bad sides. Wood - Can leak and rot, but is easier to repair than metal Plastic - Can leak at joins and through fitting screws/bolts, and if made with a balsa core that can also rot, also you have osmosis to think about Steel ...

Never sailed one so can't really comment on that aspect, but I don't think they would be any harder than another type of sail boat. Personally speaking I like them

Have your say

Once again HMG have dumped on us big time with the latest tax con, so although it's unlikely to do any good, why not have your say and speak your piece here

Not really a dig, honest
But with name, address and postcode you would be surprised at how much more info I could find on the internet. Easily enough to get credit with some firms. Quite scary really.

That's the best way to do it, the more you search on the internet, the more information you'll find, and the more knowledge you'll gain. Then you start to learn other things too, like which bit of string does what, and what it's called. Helps when you're on someone elses boat and he shouts to tighte...
